Typography is used to inform, identify, persuade, and educate. Its ability to be expressive, however, is often under-utilized.
I designed three posters that explored the expressive qualities of type by creatively interpreting the lyrics of three songs. Each poster reflected my unique visual translation of songs that I selected from a list of over 50 tunes. I listened intently to each song – over and over again – and strived to grasp the meaning behind the music/lyrics. Then, I developed typographic ideas that visually conveyed that meaning.
