Kruttika Susarla is an Indian comic maker, illustrator, and graphic designer. Her work is often described as an observation of the status quo, and versatile in style, ranging from the use of minimalistic graphics to detailed sketches. With her work, she usually highlights social causes including feminism, gender issues, LGBTQ issues, and issues of other marginalized sections of society.
These posters are inspired by Susarla’s style in graphics to promote her art at an exhibition ‘Savdhan’.
INSPIRATION
I was deeply inspired by Kruttika Susarla's bold and provocative art style, which seamlessly merges social commentary with striking visuals. Her ability to use typography as a form of self-expression intrigued me, as it often conveys powerful messages with minimalistic yet impactful design. Susarla’s approach to highlighting marginalized voices through her art drove me to explore similar themes while pushing the boundaries of conventional design for the 'Savdhan' exhibition posters.
WORK IN PROGRESS

As I delved into Kruttika Susarla's art style, I focused on how she illustrates alphabets with bold lines and intricate details to convey meaning. I carefully studied her use of typography and began by sketching out her initials, experimenting with different forms and styles. This process helped me capture the essence of her artistic approach, ensuring that the letterforms not only aligned with her aesthetic but also contributed to the overall message of the posters.
